| WELCOME
Welcome to the Preserve Upper Black Rock Turnpike Web site. A group of concerned Fairfield citizens has come together in an effort to stop the destruction of wetlands and wildlife in the Upper Black Rock Turnpike area and to preserve the residential quality of the surrounding neighborhoods.
On August 4, 2005, an application was filed with the Conservation Commission to build a 95,000 sq. ft. development with 544 parking spaces at Upper Black Rock Turnpike and Lakewood Drive. We believe that a project of this scope and magnitude does not maintain the character of our community and will exacerbate the already congested traffic in this area. Furthermore, the proposed development will adversely impact Fairfield's natural resources including Vernal Pools, wetland areas, watershed and wildlife.
Please review additional details of the proposed development on this website and join us in our efforts to prevent this project from taking place as proposed.
Don't let this tranquil area of Fairfield turn:
FROM THIS ... ... INTO THIS!!

Sign the online petition to oppose this project and contact your town officials to voice your concerns.
